CLdN announced plans to build a new river terminal for ro-ro vessels at the Port of Liverpool in partnership with Peel Ports Group. The project, a multi-million pound investment in the Irish Sea market, will create a modern berth on the River Mersey adjacent to the company’s current facilities at Brocklebank/Langton Docks. A permit application is expected in the second half of 2026, with construction scheduled to begin in 2028.

According to CLdN CEO Florent Maes, the project will allow for the handling of larger-capacity vessels, improve operational efficiency, and reduce the carbon footprint of shipping on the key Liverpool-Dublin route. Peel Ports Group CEO Claudio Veritiero noted that the investment will strengthen Liverpool’s position as a strategic port, create new jobs, and enhance the resilience of the regional economy.

CLdN recently completed the modernization of its Brocklebank Dock terminal, increasing its capacity and enabling it to handle more environmentally friendly vessels. The company carries over 200,000 freight units annually on the Liverpool to Dublin route, providing a critical link between the UK and Ireland.
