Kazlogistics and BCG discussed the development prospects of Kazakhstan’s transport industry.

A meeting between Kanat Almagambetov, CEO of Kazlogistics, and representatives of the Boston Consulting Group (USA), took place in Astana. The parties discussed key challenges and opportunities for developing freight transportation in Kazakhstan. They focused on infrastructure, document management, and the limited capacity of terminals and transport and logistics centers.

The participants emphasized the growing role of multimodal transportation and international corridors, noting the need for digitalization and the creation of modern transport and logistics centers and specialized warehouses. According to BCG experts, Kazakhstan has significant potential to become a transit hub for flows from China to Central Asia and Europe along the Middle Corridor. However, realizing this potential requires refinement of the regulatory framework and the development of bonded warehouses.

Kazlogistics, as a center of expertise and a platform for dialogue between business and government, intends to continue to protect the interests of the industry. The meeting allowed the parties to identify priority steps for the next 5-10 years to strengthen Kazakhstan’s position on the global logistics map.
