The Chinese delegation assessed the potential of the Trans-Caspian route.

On behalf of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, a Chinese delegation visited to analyze the current state of rail transportation between China and Europe and the development prospects of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).

The meeting discussed the dynamics of cargo flows and frequency of trips, the competitiveness of TITR compared to alternative routes, tariff policy, the use of quotas and existing bottlenecks. Particular attention was paid to infrastructure projects, including the construction of a container hub in the port of Aktau, measures to reduce transit time and the introduction of digital solutions for cargo tracking.

The negotiations ended with an agreement to further strengthen cooperation and implement joint steps to improve the efficiency of transportation through TITR and develop sustainable rail communication between China and Europe. The visit was organized with the participation of China International Engineering Consulting Corporation (CIECC), the largest state-owned consulting company in China, which has completed more than 150,000 projects in the transport, energy and technology sectors.
