WEC Lines has announced the launch of a direct weekly service connecting Ireland, Belgium and France. The line will be operated by its own 868 TEU vessel on a fixed 7-day rotation, departing Zeebrugge on Thursdays and arriving in Dublin on Sundays. The new route offers faster delivery and increased flexibility for cargo owners, including dry and refrigerated cargo.
The carrier, traditionally connecting North-West Europe with the southern regions, continues to expand its geography of transportation. The new NWC-IE service is a response to customer demand and allows to avoid the congested ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam, offering faster and more reliable delivery.
In France, the company is strengthening its presence: WEC Lines calls twice a week in Le Havre, makes a regular weekly call in Montoire and develops operations through its office in Nantes. As noted by WEC Belgium General Manager Philip Colle, the choice of Zeebrugge is explained by its convenient access to the port, developed multimodal connectivity and its historical significance as a hub for trade with Ireland.
