KTZ accelerates construction of new railway lines to increase freight traffic with China.

Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) Talgat Aldybergenov reported on the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects at a government meeting. In particular, the construction of the 360 ​​km long Moiynty-Kyzylzhar line has begun, and in July a contract was signed for the construction of the 272 km long Bakhty-Ayagoz line.

According to the head of the company, 220 people and 90 units of equipment will be mobilized at the construction sites by the end of August, with further expansion. The implementation of the projects will increase the throughput capacity in the Chinese direction by 25 million tons and reach a volume of up to 100 million tons by 2030 at all three border junctions.

In addition, sections of the Dostyk-Moiynty line will be introduced in stages, and the bypass of Almaty and the road itself are planned for completion by the end of this year. Construction of the Darbaza-Maktaaral line is on schedule and should be completed in 2026.
