Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy Talgat Aldybergenov met with the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev during his visit to Baku. The meeting was also attended by Advisor to the President of Kazakhstan Asel Zhanasova, Chairman of the Committee for Railway and Water Transport Zhanibek Taizhanov, heads of Azerbaijan Railways and Georgian Railways. The parties discussed the development of the Middle Corridor, digitalization of logistics and the implementation of a roadmap to eliminate bottlenecks.
An agreement was reached on the introduction of a joint monitoring system for the transit times of container trains, which will strengthen the stability of the schedule and increase the efficiency of the route. Today, transit along the Trans-Caspian route ensures the delivery of goods from China to Europe in 15-18 days – almost twice as fast as sea transport.
In addition, Aldybergenov took part in an extraordinary meeting of shareholders of Middle Corridor Multimodal Ltd., where the merger of the subsidiary China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd. with the joint venture was approved. The integration of the largest Chinese container operator will strengthen the position of the Middle Corridor in the global market and open up new opportunities for expanding cargo flows.
