According to ARFC, in January-July 2025, the Transport and Warehousing sector in Kazakhstan recorded a 22.5% increase in the physical volume of services compared to last year. The volume of transportation by all modes of transport amounted to 649.6 million tons (+10.1%), freight turnover reached 324.5 billion ton-km (+12.1%). Passenger traffic increased to 1.08 billion people (+10.7%), passenger turnover — to 51.5 billion p-km (+10.7%).
The largest growth in freight turnover was shown by Atyrau (+44.9%), Zhetisu (+42.7%) and Mangistau (+28.8%) regions, as well as Abay (+28.3%). In passenger transportation, Almaty (+25.4%), Shymkent (+24.2%) and Mangistau region (+20.8%) were the leaders.
By mode of transport, railways remain the leader — 260.4 million tons of cargo (+11.9%), while passenger traffic decreased by 6.3%. Road transport provided an 11% increase in passenger transportation, and the pipeline sector added 17.3%. Air transport carried 8.9 million passengers (+7.3%), sea transport — 2.26 million tons of cargo (+37.1%), while inland water transport reduced cargo transportation by more than half.
