On 7 July 2025, Port Gdański Eksploatacja (PGE), part of the Gdańsk Port Authority, signed a contract with Premium Quality Care for the construction of the first facility of the future grain terminal – a flat warehouse on the Szczecin Embankment. This warehouse with an area of 7,000 m² and a capacity of 30,000 tonnes will be part of the first stage of the Gdańsk Agro Terminal (GAT) project, designed for 2025–2028 and focused on agro-industrial exports.

The project on the Vistula Embankment includes the construction of a complex of steel silos with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes, as well as the introduction of modern ship loading and unloading systems with a capacity of 1,000 tonnes per hour, integrated into the port’s rail and road infrastructure. According to PGE CEO Andrzej Kuzmicz, the terminal is being created taking into account the instability of the agricultural market in order to ensure flexibility, scalability and sustainability of logistics processes.

The total budget of the project is PLN 240 million, with the construction being financed exclusively from PGE’s own funds. Already in the first phase, environmentally friendly solutions are envisaged – automation of processes, systems for reducing dust formation and fire risks, which will increase not only the throughput capacity of the Port of Gdansk, but also its resilience to market fluctuations.
