On the sidelines of the Foreign Investors Council meeting, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Wabtec President and CEO Rafael Santana. Wabtec, a global leader in transport technologies, has already invested over $230 million in the development of Kazakhstan’s railway industry and remains the country’s key partner in this area.
The head of state expressed confidence in further deepening the strategic partnership, in particular, in launching the production of a new type of locomotives, expanding the network of service centers, creating a competence center and increasing the level of product localization.
The parties confirmed their interest in continuing joint work aimed at the technological development of the railway industry and strengthening the industrial potential of Kazakhstan.
