According to the results of 2024, the volume of cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) reached 4.5 million tons, which is 62% more than in 2023. This was reported by the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan, noting that the route is becoming increasingly popular against the backdrop of growing trade activity between Asia and Europe.
The growth of transit traffic was especially dynamic: total transit increased fourfold, and transit from China – 28 times. This indicates the growing importance of TITR as an alternative and sustainable channel for international logistics, including in the context of geopolitical changes.
In parallel with the growth in traffic, Kazakhstan continues to develop its transport infrastructure. In 2024, new cargo terminals were put into operation at the airports of Almaty, Kyzylorda and Shymkent, which strengthens the integration of air and land transport as part of the expansion of the country’s multimodal capabilities.
