The China Shipowners Association (CSA) has officially opened its London office, strengthening the country’s international presence in the shipping industry. The opening ceremony was attended by Chinese representatives based in the UK and key industry figures including Cosco Shipping’s Zhang Yong and the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) Secretary General Guy Platten.
The office will act as a communication bridge between Chinese and international shipping companies, as well as provide support to CSA members overseas. The association plans to actively participate in shaping the global regulatory agenda and promote the interests of Chinese shipping in the international arena.
During the event, Cosco Shipping outlined its priorities for green and digital shipping, while CSA Secretary General Liu Shanghai stressed the importance of international cooperation to successfully overcome the challenges of industry transformation. The opening was followed by a seminar on the environmental aspects of maritime shipping.
