Kazakhstan strengthens transport cooperation with China and Central Asian countries.

Astana hosted the second meeting of transport ministers of China and Central Asian countries, which was attended by delegations from Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The main topic was strengthening regional transport and logistics cooperation, including in the digital sphere.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to launch a Multilateral Cooperation Program aimed at simplifying international road transport, introducing electronic document management and online cargo tracking. Kazakhstan, which already carries out digital exchange of permits with China and Uzbekistan, will now involve other countries in the region in the process.

Two memorandums were signed – on the digitalization of transportation and interdepartmental cooperation. In addition, the participants discussed measures to simplify border procedures, develop transport education and personnel training, emphasizing the importance of deepening partnership for the sustainable growth of the region.
