A key event in the field of transport logistics in Romania – the international conference BLACK SEA TRANSPORT CORRIDORS 2025: PORTS, RAILWAYS, SHIPPING – was held on April 28-30, 2025 in Constanta, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel – Mamaia Beach.
The forum was attended by over 150 delegates from 20 countries.
The forum discussed the topics of international transport corridors in the Black and Caspian Seas, the market of railway services and sea freight, as well as the development of infrastructure in the Black and Caspian Seas.

The meeting began with an evening cocktail reception at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Such an informal event was an excellent start for establishing contacts before the conference.
The forum day itself began with a coffee break and communication in a relaxed atmosphere.
The participants were welcomed by Roman Dedkov, Founder and CEO of the organizing company RDL group.
Then we moved on to Session 1-1: Black Sea transport corridors – current trends and developments.
The first speaker was Mihai Toganel, Counselor, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Romaniawith welcoming speach and topic of the presentation – “Romania`s Strategic Vision over Rail Transit Corridors”
After Ralf-Charley Schultze, CEO of UIRR raised the topic of cooperation as a solution for intermodal transportation.
Then Liliana Krutonog, CEO of MALBI-trans, Czech Republic, presented the topic “New routes: high tariffs and customer doubts”.
After that, Amedeo Neculcea, CEO of GP Intermodal, spoke about Romania’s potential as a hub for Asia and Europe, as well as about new railway infrastructure.
And the issue of investments in strategic infrastructure projects in the Black Sea region was revealed by Venera Vlad, Associate Director of EBRD.
After that, Aasim Siddiqui, CEO of Rumi Intermodal LTD, spoke. He raised the topic of “Central Asian Transit Trade via the Black Sea”.
Session 1-1 was closed by Rafi Papo, Global Segment Manager of Continental Rail Cargo, with the topic of “Southeastern Europe – Strategic Location on the Middle Corridor”.
After a short coffee break, Session 2 – Black Sea Ports and Terminals – Expansion, Investment and Sustainability began. It was opened by Dan Jarnea, Head of Marketing at Constanta Port Administration, who spoke about the role of the port of Constanta in the region.
Vihren Zahariev, Consultant at BMF Port Burgas, continued by speaking about new logistics opportunities in the port of Burgas.
Zviad Chkhartishvili, Port Administration Officer at APM Terminals Poti • ეიპიემ ტერმინალს ფოთი, in turn, voiced his vision for the development of the port of Poti.
Werner Peeters, Business Development Manager at NFident GmbH, spoke on the topic “Investment deficit and digitalization of terminals”.
After lunch, we moved on to Session 3 – Shipping and the freight market. The first speaker was Mikheil Babunashvili, Commercial Director at E60 Shipping Line, who spoke about the role of ferry transportation in the Black Sea corridor.
Luciana NICOARA, Commercial Director Ocean Freight – Romania at PSA BDP INTERNATIONAL ROMANIA SRL, gave an overview of the impact of global changes on the Black Sea sea routes.
Next, Roman Morgenstern, Marketing and Projects Director at UKRFERRY, spoke about the current state and prospects of ferry transportation.
Karyna Gorovaya, Partner at Interlegal (law firm, Ukraine), presented the legal aspects of maritime transportation in the region.
Session 4 Railway logistics – the Black Sea connection with Europe and Asia was opened by Kanat Kobessov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NurZholCompany LLP, Chairman of the Board of the National Association of Exporters KazGrain. He raised the topic of “Kazakhstan – Romania: new logistics opportunities and trade partnership”.
The second speaker in this Session was Artem Khachaturian, Commercial Director of UZ Cargo Poland, who spoke about the Black Sea ports as an alternative for the EU.
Then Stephen Archer, CEO of Baltic Rail, spoke about changes in the Balkan region and the development of the Baltic-Adriatic corridor.
The next speaker was Paulius Grubinskas, Commercial Director of LTG Cargo Ukraine. He spoke on the topic of “Connection of the Black and Baltic Seas: current status and prospects”.
The forum was concluded by Inessa Platonova, FIATA Foundation / PLASKE Academy. The speaker talked about flexible strategies in logistics management.
The conference ended with a gala dinner with awards for partners and sponsors, accompanied by live music by the invited guest from Ukraine – NICOLE.
