In March 2025, Lithuanian trucks increased their mileage on German toll roads by 6% compared to the same period last year. According to the German Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility (BALM), the increase was recorded after a decline in February and concerns Lithuanian, Polish and German trucks. The total mileage of all vehicles over 3.5 tons increased by 6.4% year-on-year.

If only heavy trucks (over 7.5 tons) are taken into account, then in March 2025, the mileage increased by 3.1% compared to March 2024. In particular, Lithuanian vehicles showed one of the most noticeable increases: their mileage amounted to 129 million kilometers, 5.2% more than a year earlier. For comparison, German trucks traveled 1.93 billion kilometers (+3%), Polish – 655 million kilometers (+2.4%).

However, based on the results of the entire first quarter of 2025, heavy truck traffic on German roads still remained slightly below last year’s level – a decrease of 0.5%.
