Kent Foods has opened a logistics hub at DP World London Gateway.

Kent Foods, one of Europe’s leading food ingredients suppliers, has secured a £20m+ contract with DP World for a new logistics centre at London Gateway Logistics Park. The company has secured a 14,000 sq m lease for 10 years to store products arriving via the high-tech container port for onward delivery across the UK by rail and road.

The new warehouse is equipped with freezers and is designed to store a wide range of products, including chocolate, sugar and vegetable oils. The building is BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and EPC ‘A’ certified to the highest sustainability standards. Situated within the Thames Freeport Zone, the facility provides the company with tax benefits and direct access to the London and South East markets.

With the opening of the centre, Kent Foods, supported by Albex Logistics, is strengthening its position in the UK market, speeding up the logistics of importing and exporting food products. For DP World, this new agreement marks a significant milestone in the development of its UK operations, confirming the attractiveness of London Gateway as a key logistics hub on the Thames River.
