Kazakhstan sets record for grain rail transportation in first quarter of 2025.

In January-March 2025, 3.6 million tons of grain cargo were transported by rail in Kazakhstan – this is 49% more than in the same period last year, and is the highest figure in the past five years. Of this volume, 2.8 million tons were exported, which is 52% more than last year’s volumes.

Deliveries to the Baltic countries demonstrated particularly rapid growth – five times more than before. Exports of processed grain products to China increased sharply: 500 thousand tons of compound feed were shipped in total, which is 5.5 times more than last year.

March 2025 was also a record – the total volume of loaded grain reached 1.2 million tons (+ 63% compared to March 2024), of which 914 thousand tons were exported (+ 70%). 463 thousand tons of grain were shipped to the countries of Central Asia – 48% more than last year.
