HHLA increased revenue and profit in 2024.

Despite global challenges, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) recorded growth in its financial performance in 2024. Group revenue increased by 10.5% to EUR 1.6 billion, while operating profit (EBIT) increased by 22.7% to EUR 134.3 million. Net profit after minority interests amounted to EUR 32.5 million, significantly exceeding the previous year’s figure.

The main growth drivers were the strengthening of rail transport and the modernization of container terminals in Hamburg. The port handled 5.97 million TEU of containers, while international terminals showed growth of 23.1%, especially due to HHLA TK Estonia and the resumption of operations at the container terminal in Odessa. Transit flows to the USA, Belgium and Greece also increased significantly.

The Intermodal segment also showed positive dynamics: container traffic increased by 11.6% to 1.79 million TEU, of which 86.5% was transported by rail. Revenue in the segment increased by 14.6% to €711.3 million, and operating profit amounted to €83.7 million.

In real estate, HHLA maintained stable occupancy rates at its properties in Hamburg, but revenue in the sector decreased by 0.8% to €46.1 million due to preparations for construction projects. Operating profit remained at the same level as last year at €16.1 million.

In 2025, HHLA expects further growth in container traffic, revenue and profit. The group’s projected EBIT is €195-235 million, with the main contribution from Port Logistics (€180-220 million). Capital investments will amount to 460-510 million euros, and the dividend policy will remain unchanged.
