ONE optimises WA1 and SW2 routes by increasing the frequency of calls to Onne and Lekki ports.

Ocean container operator Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced the renewal of its WA1 and SW2 services, aimed at increasing the frequency of calls to the ports of Onne and Lekki. The new routes will strengthen trade links between Asia and West Africa, providing more efficient logistics and cargo distribution.

As part of the changes, the port of Cotonou is removed from the WA1 route and added to SW2, while Onne is added to the WA1 schedule. The WA1 route will now call Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Singapore, Port Klang, Apapa, Tinkan, Onne, Tema, Lome and then back to Asia. The first vessel on the new schedule is SEASMILE (SSMT) v.0509W, with an estimated arrival in Shanghai on 3 March 2025.

In turn, SW2 will now call Lekki and Cotonou weekly, and Onne will be transferred to WA1. The new SW2 route includes ports of Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Nansha, Singapore, Abidjan, Tema, Apapa, Lekki, Cotonou and then back to Asia. The first vessel on the new schedule will be SPARROW (SPWT) v.0509W, with an estimated arrival in Qingdao on 1 March 2025.
