The new China-Europe-Express (CEX) service has been launched at JadeWeserPort, providing a direct sea connection between the Chinese port of Ningbo and Wilhelmshaven. The transit time is only 26 days, making this route the fastest direct connection between China and Northern Europe.
TFG Transfracht is responsible for the domestic transport, offering 6 feeder trains and 9 direct departures per week, as well as DB Cargo Eurasia GmbH, which operates the rail route from Wilhelmshaven to Hungary. This provides customers with a reliable multimodal solution for the transport of batteries and hazardous goods.
Sustainability is a key aspect of the new route. Using rail on key sections reduces CO₂ emissions by 80% compared to road transport. DB Cargo uses 100% renewable energy or HVO fuel, and the remaining emissions are offset by certified climate projects.
