DP World reaches historic milestone of 100 million TEU.

DP World has surpassed 100 million TEU of container throughput worldwide for the first time. This achievement is the result of more than $11 billion in infrastructure investment over the past 10 years. Since 2014, the company’s capacity has increased by 33%, starting from 75.6 million TEU. In 2024, throughput increased by 5%, strengthening DP World’s share of the global container shipping market to 9.2%.

The company made significant achievements in 2024, including the modernization of the port of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, which had not been upgraded since the 1950s. As a result, vessel waiting times have been reduced from months to days. New ports are also under construction in Senegal and India, strengthening DP World’s position in less developed regions.

For example, an investment of $450 million increased the capacity of the London Gateway port to 900,000 TEU per year, and the upgrade of the Callao terminal increased its throughput to 2.7 million TEU.

DP World is actively developing its global network. In Turkey, the Yarimca and Evyapport terminals merged, increasing capacity by 500,000 TEU. In Malaysia, the Sapangar Bay port is being modernized together with Sabah Ports, which will increase container handling volumes to 1.25 million TEU by 2025.
