A new freight carrier is starting operations at the C-Port on the Littoral Canal, which connects the Dortmund-Ems Canal with the Hunte and Weser rivers. Emons Spedition has acquired a 4-hectare site following a year of negotiations to expand its presence in Lower Saxony and northern Germany.

The port’s convenient location between Bremen, Emden and Osnabrück allows Emons Spedition to transport goods by barge from the seaports of Bremerhaven and Rotterdam directly to the C-Port branch for storage and order picking. The company also plans to develop battery storage and recycling as part of the new project.

A complex with an administrative building for 200 employees will be built on the C-Port site by 2027, strengthening the region’s logistics capabilities.
