Estonian state-owned enterprise Tallinna Sadam reported revenue of 90.8 million euros for January-September 2024, up 2.5% year-on-year. The company’s net profit increased by 14.1% to 14.9 million euros, while EBITDA reached 41 million euros (+5.4%).
The port’s passenger traffic increased by 3.2% to 6.3 million people, while cargo turnover increased by 2% to 9.7 million tonnes. The bulk of cargo was ro-ro cargo (5.03 million tonnes, +2.6%), which increased due to the increase in the number of trucks on ferries. Container cargo amounted to 1.54 million tonnes (+10.1%) or 10,790 TEU (+17.4%). Bulk cargo reached 1.74 million tonnes (+11.3%), driven by increased exports of oats, pellets and scrap metal, while liquid cargo decreased by 21.4% to 1.02 million tonnes.
Rolling cargo, which has been the leader since 2022, accounts for 52% of the total tonnage, while liquid cargo accounts for only 10%. Tallinna Sadam continues to strengthen its position in passenger and container transportation by increasing volumes and improving infrastructure.
