The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a bill on the reform of the railway market, which introduces a new transportation model based on European standards. This step is aimed at harmonizing with EU legislation within the framework of the Association Agreement with the European Union.
The bill provides for the introduction of equal access to infrastructure services for all interested parties. The responsibilities of infrastructure operators, carriers and owners of rolling stock, as well as requirements for railway equipment, are defined.
In addition, it is planned to introduce a transport safety management system according to EU standards, which will increase the level of transportation safety and increase competition in the market. It is also planned to create training centers for the training and advanced training of drivers.
