Rail&Sea Traction GmbH, a subsidiary of the Rail&Sea Group, has obtained safety certification for Austria and Germany as of September 20, 2024. This certification allows the company to expand its rail transport operations beyond its initial focus in Southeast Europe, where it has been active in Croatia, Romania, and Slovenia.
Rail&Sea’s gets better coverage across more European markets. This expansion will enable development of distances on connections that, in many cases, begin and end in the two new countries.
Italy to Germany container service adds third weekly train
Rail&Sea has also expanded its Italy-Germany connection with a third weekly container block train operating via its terminal in Limburg an der Lahn since September 19, 2024. The trains transport a variety of goods, including steel, bulk materials, palletised tiles, and waste from northern Italy, while clay is shipped back to Italy to support the tile industry in Sassuolo.
