Over 1,000 km of new railways will be built in Kazakhstan.

In Kazakhstan, JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy is completing several major infrastructure projects, which will result in the construction of over a thousand kilometers of railway tracks. One of the key projects is the reconstruction of the Dostyk-Moiynty line, along which second tracks of more than 800 kilometers are being built. By the end of the year, train traffic will begin on the Dostyk-Aktogay and Moiynty-Balkhash sections.

In addition, construction of a bypass railway line around Almaty is ongoing and work has begun on the creation of the Darbaza-Maktaaral line in the Turkestan region. All projects involve about five thousand workers and more than 1,300 units of equipment.

“All projects are actively assisted by the Government, the Ministry of Transport and regional akimats. These are the akimats of Karaganda and Zhetysu regions for Dostyk, Moiynty – this is the akimat of Almaty region for the Almaty bypass station. And, of course, great assistance from the akimat of Turkestan region on the Darbaza – Maktaral project, on which active work has also begun. The land construction project has been completed, the purchase and assessment of land plots has begun. As a result of the completion of all these projects, more than a thousand kilometers of tracks will be built, which was noted separately in the Address of the Head of State on September 2 of this year,” said Marat Iskaliev, Managing Director for Construction at Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.
