In July 2024, contractor Rizzani de Eccher began a new stage of construction of the Rail Baltica bridge over the Neris River near Jonava, delivering steel sheet piles to the site. These works will create a temporary protective perimeter, which will allow for the safe installation of the bridge supports. Once the work is completed, the perimeter will be dismantled.

The bridge, 1.51 km long and 40 meters high, is one of the most complex infrastructure projects in the history of Lithuania and the longest on the Rail Baltica line. 262 of the 376 planned supports have already been installed, and 7.6 thousand cubic meters of concrete have been used. Three technologies are used in the construction: mobile scaffolding, balancing method and formwork.

About 700 employees and 500 units of equipment are actively working on the Rail Baltica sections. This year, two more contracts are planned to be signed for the Kaunas-Switzerland and Šeta-Ramygala sections, with intensive work to begin in 2025.
