The first voyage of the new tanker “Zangilan”, built at the Baku Shipyard on the order of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), took place on July 2 with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev. The tanker arrived at the port of Aladzha in Turkmenistan, and on July 17 delivered crude oil to the Sangachal seaport.
“Zangilan” is a modern vessel with a length of 141 meters and a width of 16.9 meters with a permanent crew of 15 people. The tanker is equipped with 6 cargo tanks with a total capacity of 9212 cubic meters and a total lifting capacity of 7800 tons. Technical characteristics, including draft, allow the vessel to enter shallow ports of the Caspian Basin and transport cargo beyond its borders.
“Zangilan” is the fourth domestic tanker built at the Baku Shipyard. Unlike its predecessors “Lachin” and “Kelbajar”, it is capable of transporting both oil and chemical products. In the near future, the plant plans to build three more tankers for ASCO, for which relevant agreements have already been signed.
