Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CITIC Group Xi Guohua, where they discussed the implementation of joint Kazakh-Chinese infrastructure projects and strengthening cooperation in energy and industry. Currently, with the participation of the CITIC Group, large projects for the reconstruction of roads are being implemented, including the Taldykorgan – Ust-Kamenogorsk and Karaganda – Balkhash highways.
On the Taldykorgan – Ust-Kamenogorsk highway, traffic is open on the lower layer of the pavement for 748 km out of 768 km, and the remainder of the work on the upper layer is 48%. On the Karaganda-Balkhash highway, traffic is open for all 363 km, with the remainder of work on the top layer of pavement at 49%. During the meeting, the modernization of the JV CASPI BITUM LLP plant was also discussed, which will increase its capacity to 750 thousand tons of bitumen per year, covering the needs of the construction season.
The parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation in agriculture, clean energy, environmental protection and digital technologies.
