Based on the results of January-June 2024, NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC transported more than 122 million tons of cargo by rail. Domestic transportation increased by 2.1% compared to the same period last year and amounted to over 81.5 million tons, while more than 41 million tons were exported. Among the transported goods, coal occupies a significant place – 47.5 million tons, of which 34.8 million tons are accounted for by domestic transportation.
A noticeable increase is observed in grain transportation within the country, which increased by 5% to 1.1 million tons. Transportation of ground products increased by 5.4% to 1.6 million tons, including 8% growth within the country. Transportation of ferrous metals also increased by 7.2% – to 2.2 million tons, iron ore and manganese by 9.6% – to 10.5 million tons, non-ferrous ore and sulfur raw materials by 13%, to 12.1 million tons .
Export transportation also showed significant growth: oil cargo by 8.3% – up to 2.7 million tons, ferrous metals by 6% – up to 1.6 million tons, chemical fertilizers by 10% – up to 648 thousand tons, iron ore and manganese by 4% – up to 5.6 million tons, and construction cargo by 68% – up to 267 thousand tons.
