In May, a new record was set for the volume of rail freight transport between China and Europe. The number of freight trains operating on these routes increased 14% year-on-year to 1,724, according to China Railways Corporation.
The total volume of transportation amounted to 186 thousand TEU, which is 13% more than the same period last year. This marked a new monthly record for routes between China and Europe.
The growth in traffic volumes demonstrates the growing importance of rail transport for trade between regions, providing efficient and reliable logistics.
