The CRESPORT project is dedicated to enhancing the cybersecurity of Adriatic ports, recognizing their critical role in European maritime traffic. As digitization becomes integral to supply chain competitiveness, port infrastructure faces increased vulnerability to cyber threats. Given the potential economic impact of disruptions caused by cyber-attacks, CRESPORT aims to strengthen the resilience of ports through collaborative efforts, fostering territorial cohesion across Italy, Croatia, and beyond.
As part of this initiative, the Port of Rijeka Authority is allocating funds for the implementation of a pilot project focused on upgrading its IT security. This includes conducting a comprehensive assessment of IT security threats to enhance network infrastructure protection. Plans also involve upgrading firewall infrastructure and user monitoring systems to meet modern standards.
Furthermore, the project includes training for ICT sector employees on kinetic safety and the handling of new equipment. Once the upgraded systems and software are in place, rigorous testing, including penetration testing, will be conducted to ensure their effectiveness. The project’s leadership lies with the Ravenna Port Authority, with participation from various port authorities across the Adriatic region, including Dubrovnik, Ploče, and Venice, among others. Through this collaborative effort, CRESPORT aims to fortify the cybersecurity of Adriatic ports, safeguarding critical infrastructure and fostering regional cooperation.
