A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) has revealed a significant enhancement to its ME2 ocean service, with new port calls added to key destinations in North Europe, including Rotterdam, Felixstowe, and Bremerhaven, starting from the third week of April.
The revised port rotation for the ME2 service will now include stops at Port Tangier, Algeciras, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Bremerhaven, Port Tangier, Salalah, Jebel Ali, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, and Port Tangier.
This expansion of the ME2 service to North Europe will bring notable benefits to exporters in North India, especially those in the lifestyle and retail sectors. With improved service, manufacturers and exporters will enjoy faster access to crucial consumer markets in North Europe, resulting in reduced transit times of ocean shipments between Mumbai ports and North Europe by five to seven days. Similarly, importers in the automotive sector will experience quicker transit times for automotive components coming into India from North Europe.
Despite the extended coverage, the nominal capacity of the weekly ME2 service will remain unchanged. Maersk plans to introduce two additional vessels to the rotation to accommodate the expanded reach in North Europe, demonstrating the company’s steadfast commitment to delivering efficient and reliable logistics solutions that meet the evolving needs of its customers.
