The new freight train set off from Tayuan to Barcelona, covering 12 thousand kilometers. The initiative was launched by Shanxi Zhongding Logistics Group Co., Ltd. as it continues to expand its freight train network as part of its “One Belt, One Road” strategy.
With European consumers’ demand for Chinese goods rising, international logistics companies are increasingly turning to freight trains for transportation. Since the beginning of the year, more than a thousand international flights have been sent from China to Europe, and since the launch of the One Belt, One Road initiative, more than 32 thousand trains have already traveled along this route, reaching final destinations in 45 cities in 18 countries.
