KTZ Express and Jiangsu International Rail Freight Express have inked a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly organize and dispatch container trains through Kazakhstan, including the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM). The agreement was signed in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, during a meeting between Erlan Koyshebayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Logistics at NC KTZ, and the leadership of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transportation and the major state trading group, Jiangsu SOHO Holdings Group.
Jiangsu SOHO Holdings Group, comprising 380 enterprises, includes the logistics platform Jiangsu International Rail Freight Express, responsible for dispatching over two thousand trains annually in both western and eastern directions. Earlier this year, Yuxinou and KTZ collaborated to establish a joint TMTM service from Nanjing, China, to Apsheeron, Azerbaijan, with an average delivery time of 18 days.
Notably, Jiangsu Province, with a population of 85 million, ranks second in China for economic development, boasting a GDP of $1.8 trillion in 2023. Jiangsu serves as a pivotal region in freight, contributing to 15% of China’s overall industrial output and 3% of the global industry. In the beginning of 2024, NC KTZ reached agreements with logistics platforms in Xi’an, Jiangsu, Beijing, Zhengzhou, and Chongqing to organize and dispatch 3,500 transit container trains across Kazakhstan, equivalent to approximately 350,000 twenty-foot equivalents.
