The Luka Koper Group celebrates a highly successful year, surpassing expectations and achieving significant milestones in maritime throughput. With net sales revenue reaching EUR 312.8 million, matching 2022 levels, the company excelled in container and car handling, container services, and additional services, despite a decline in storage revenue due to global logistics market normalization. Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) soared to EUR 60.9 million, a 76% increase from the plan, driven by higher sales and reduced costs.
In 2023, the Group achieved record throughput volumes in strategic commodity groups, handling 1,066,093 TEUs in containers (up 5%) and 916,728 cars (up 14%). The Passenger Terminal also witnessed impressive growth, welcoming 120,553 passengers, surpassing the notable 2019 record. Despite challenges such as the Red Sea attacks impacting logistics globally, the Port of Koper maintained operations, welcoming 1,642 ships, 20,609 trains, and 422,811 trucks. Looking ahead, the Group remains committed to investments, with ongoing projects like the 12th general cargo berth and plans for Pier I extension and Container Terminal development, ensuring a continued positive trajectory.
