The Port of Gdańsk, situated in the deep-water area next to the Ore Pier, has unveiled a unique investment opportunity as it opens a tender for the long-term lease of a nearly 24-hectare property. Unprecedented on a European scale, the site, with a valid building permit for an agricultural cargo handling terminal, is earmarked for grain handling development. Port of Gdańsk Authority seeks bids that diversify cargo groups and leverage the property’s strategic location within the port’s deepwater segment.

The property’s immense potential is underscored by its strategic location, recent investments by entities such as ZMPG S.A., PKP PLK, and the Maritime Office in Gdynia, and a valid building permit covering infrastructure for grain storage and handling. Accessibility is enhanced by the completed modernization of the internal traffic system within the External Port, including roads, rail tracks, and bridges. The investment has boosted rail capacity, enhancing the attractiveness of the Port of Gdańsk for potential investors.

Significant maritime improvements, including the modernization of the fairway for the Northern Port and the completion of outer breakwaters, ensure safe entry for vessels, making Port of Gdańsk the only Baltic Sea port capable of handling the largest ocean-going vessels. With a current rank of 6th in the EU, ahead of major ports like Marseilles and Barcelona, Port of Gdańsk remains the fastest-growing European port of the last decade and retains its position as the leading container port in the Baltic Sea.
