Rhenus Group secures gold status in EcoVadis 2023 CSR rankings

EcoVadis, a renowned global provider of independent sustainability ratings, has once again bestowed gold status upon the Rhenus Group in its 2023 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) rankings. Rhenus excelled in assessments related to the environment, employment and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement, securing a high overall score of 73 out of 100 points. This places the international logistics specialist among the top percentile of assessed service providers in the logistics sector.

EcoVadis recognized Rhenus with impressive scores, including 80 points for environmental practices, 60 points for ethics, 70 points for employment and human rights, and 80 points for sustainable procurement. The accolade reflects Rhenus’s commitment to sustainability, with notable measures, such as a comprehensive sustainable procurement policy and the attainment of significant energy and environment management certificates across various global business sites. Rhenus’s active participation in the United Nations Global Compact, aimed at promoting ecological and social aspects of globalization, further contributed to its positive assessment. Additionally, the logistics specialist annually discloses environment data and reduction strategies to the Carbon Disclosure Project, a non-profit organization collecting climate-related corporate data from over 23,000 companies worldwide.

Jacek Dudkiewicz, Chief Sustainability Officer of the Rhenus Group, emphasized the significance of the EcoVadis gold award, indicating that it validates their current CSR efforts and underscores the vital contribution of their employees. Dudkiewicz expressed the Group’s commitment to expanding its sustainability strategy across the entire Rhenus organization in the future. EcoVadis, as an independent CSR rating agency, utilizes a robust methodology grounded in 200 sector examples, 21 CSR indicators, and 175 country analyses. The agency’s approach aligns with international CSR standards, including ISO 26000, the Global Reporting Initiative, and the United Nations Global Compact, and it has assessed over 100,000 companies to date.
