Turkmenistan has initiated the construction of the Mary – Turkmenabat highway as part of the larger Ashgabat – Turkmenabat high-speed road project. The commencement coincided with the completion of the Tejen – Mary section, as reported during Chairman Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s inspection visit to the road construction site in the Mary region.
During his visit, Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of continuous attention to the project, specifically highlighting the need for modernizing highway signage and establishing an efficient traffic regulation system. He issued specific instructions to the relevant authorities to ensure these aspects take precedence in the development.
The Ashgabat – Turkmenabat highway project stands out as one of Turkmenistan’s major national transport initiatives. The country’s transportation sector is undergoing substantial growth and modernization in alignment with its national development strategy, incorporating new technologies and fostering strategic partnerships with international organizations and investors.
