Turkmenbashi International Seaport in Turkmenistan welcomed the first cargo shipments of the year from Baku, Azerbaijan, as reported by Trend. On January 11, the cargo ship Türkmenistan, followed by the Magtymguly with containers, docked at the container terminal berth. The Caspian Sea route between Turkmenbashi International Seaport and Baku International Commercial Seaport is efficiently served by the Turkmen RO-PAX class Berkarar and Bagtyyar passenger ships, each capable of accommodating 54 trucks and 200 passengers, completing the journey in just 12 hours.

Notably, Turkmenistan’s Marine Merchant Fleet boasts a diverse range of vessels, including bulk carriers, oil and petroleum product tankers, passenger ships, ferries for both automobiles and passengers, yachts, various classes of tugboats, and auxiliary vessels. This marks a significant development in enhancing maritime connectivity and trade relations between the two ports.
