The Port of Gdańsk has invested over PLN 82 million in the ongoing development of its Inner Port, aligning with the long-term investment strategy of the Management Board. This initiative aims to enhance communication around the Przemysłowe Quay, optimize cargo handling, and facilitate the commercialization of new investment areas. While the Outer Port sees advancements in deep-water terminals, the Inner Port undergoes a universal upgrade, having recently completed a crucial project deepening the fairway and upgrading over 5 km of quays.

The latest project, titled ‘Extension and modernisation of the core network node in the port concerning accessible road and rail infrastructure,’ involved reconstructing railway and road systems, totaling 1.6 km of upgraded and new roads and approximately 6 km of tracks. Employing cement concrete technology for road surfaces, the initiative also revamped water, sanitary, electricity, and teletechnical networks, introducing a stormwater drainage system and street lighting. The overall investment, valued at around PLN 82 million, received 20% co-financing from the CEF ‘Connecting Europe’ program, with NDI Group serving as the general contractor.

This marks just one phase of the Inner Port’s development, as the Port of Gdańsk has secured funding for the next project, ‘Improving the infrastructure of the Port of Gdansk with an analysis for implementing the low-emission OPS system for the sustainable development of the TEN-T network.’
