In Kazakhstan, large-scale transportation projects covering automotive, railway, air, and maritime transport are actively being implemented. The total volume of freight transportation has reached 895 million tons, accompanied by a 1.6-fold increase in industry investments to 1.8 trillion tenge.
In the railway sector, mega-projects are underway, including the construction of a bypass railway line around Almaty station and the Darbaza-Maktaaral line, with plans to build over 1,300 kilometers of new railways in the next three years. In the automotive sector, three major projects have been completed, six long-term projects are actively progressing, and between 2024 and 2030, more than 9,000 kilometers of priority road projects are planned for implementation.
Important projects are also being developed for the development of maritime infrastructure, including the establishment of a container hub in the port of Aktau and the launch of a grain terminal in the port of Kuryk. The increase in the fleet of aircraft to 98 units, the construction of three new passenger terminals, and the resumption of flights on 23 routes to 13 countries underscore Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening its aviation connections.
