The Port of Gothenburg, along with partners including Stena Line, the Port of Kiel, and the Port of Hamburg, showcased the successful implementation of green transport corridors at the conference titled “Green Transport Corridors – Linking Europe and Scandinavia” in Gothenburg.

Stena Line, a key player in this initiative, is actively testing alternative fuels like methanol on its Stena Germanica route. Additionally, the shipping company has embraced shore power, available at both the ports of Gothenburg and Kiel, further enhancing its commitment to eco-friendly practices.

Acknowledging the importance of collaboration, the ports of Gothenburg and Kiel have been steadfast supporters of Stena Line’s efforts, providing shore power options for years. Notably, the port of Gothenburg also serves as a vital hub for methanol bunkering. Beyond ports and shipping companies, the transition to a green supply chain requires active participation from various logistics service providers, including rail and freight forwarders, as highlighted by Axel Mattern, CEO of Port of Hamburg Marketing, in a panel discussion.
