Impala Terminals Group has successfully secured the acquisition of the HES Hartel Tank Terminal through a competitive auction process. Renamed as ‘Impala Energy Infrastructure Netherlands,’ this terminal boasts a storage capacity of approximately 1.3 million cubic meters for bulk liquid energy products. In a significant move, Impala commits to investing between 90 and 100 million euros over the next two years to finalize the terminal’s construction, with the transaction anticipated to conclude in the coming days.

The reinvigorated terminal project is poised to generate up to 70 full-time local jobs upon commencement of operations. Featuring over 50 tanks, berths capable of accommodating VLCC-size vessels, and nine barge jetties, the facility emphasizes high-grade specifications and connectivity for enhanced user flexibility. Notably, the terminal’s capacity to store various biofuel products aligns with regional efforts to drive the energy transition. The construction of this state-of-the-art storage and distribution terminal, initially stalled in December 2022 due to multiple setbacks, including the COVID-19 pandemic, is now set to contribute significantly to the energy landscape after the successful acquisition by Impala Terminals Group.
