Tblisi, October 26, 2023 – A pivotal moment for Eurasian trade and connectivity was marked in the Georgian capital as the railway authorities of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia inked a landmark agreement to establish a trilateral joint venture. The signing ceremony, hosted amid the strategic discussions at the Tblisi Silk Road Forum, heralded a new era for the region’s ambitious multimodal transport initiatives.

NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, Georgian Railway JSC, and Azerbaijan Railways CJSC have agreed to merge resources and expertise to form “Middle Corridor Multimodal Ltd.,” a balanced partnership that aims to revolutionize the logistics landscape along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

This innovative enterprise will be domiciled within the Astana International Financial Center’s jurisdiction, leveraging its competitive regulatory framework to foster a dynamic business environment.

Middle Corridor Multimodal Ltd. is set to become a game-changer in Eurasian transit, offering comprehensive logistics solutions under a unified, streamlined structure that promises to expedite shipping times and enhance service reliability. This integrated approach, which encompasses both rail and maritime transport, is designed to capitalize on the strategic position of the member countries as a bridge between the robust markets of China and the diverse regions of Europe and Turkey.

In an ambitious move to reshape the international logistics framework, the joint venture pledges to offer a seamless one-stop-shop logistics service. This includes assuring stringent adherence to delivery schedules and implementing a cohesive development strategy for multimodal services that cater to the burgeoning trade demands across the China-Europe-Turkey axis.
