Expanding TransFER Network: ÖBB Rail Cargo Group Introduces New Connection with Central Italy between Villach and Frosinone
The TransNET network by RCG now includes the TransFER Villach–Frosinone, complementing the TransFER Villach–Italy service. This extension provides a secure and environmentally friendly transportation solution for various types of cargo traveling between Villach in Austria and Frosinone in Italy. Strategically located in the heart of Italy and in close proximity to Rome, the RCG connection to Frosinone offers convenient access to vital national and international transportation routes.
This initiative aims to promote sustainable and efficient freight transport between Austria and Italy. The transit time between Villach and Frosinone is remarkably quick, taking only one day. Initially, the TransFER service will be available with one round trip per month, with plans to increase the frequency to one round trip per week in the future. Customers stand to benefit from comprehensive logistics solutions, including first and last-mile services, as well as the handling of both conventional wagonload and container traffic (with profile 22). Additional forwarding services, such as transshipment facilities and warehouse logistics, are also offered to meet diverse transportation needs.
