On December 16, the opening ceremony for two modern warehouse complexes was held in the Free Economic Zone of the Port of Gdansk. Solid Port, a key player in the Inner Port, held the opening ceremony. The facilities, built on a plot leased from the port authority for 30 years, consist of rectangular steel tent hangars measuring 40 x 60 meters with a ridge height of 14.5 meters. The walls and roof are made of durable PVC coating, and the warehouses themselves are designed for storing organic fertilizers.
Solid Port specializes in the handling of bulk cargo, including bulk raw materials, aggregates, and fertilizers, which play a key role in industry, agriculture, and trade. The company has consistently invested in the development of port infrastructure for many years, raising cargo handling standards. The addition of the new warehouses is a response to growing market and customer demand, significantly increasing the operator’s throughput and storage capacity, speeding up cargo handling, and improving the efficiency of logistics processes.
The new warehouses are located parallel to each other and the internal port road on Przemysłowa Street, within the WOC. They can store up to 12,160 tons of fertilizer in big bags with capacities of 500, 600, and 1,000 kg, stacked four high. The investment also included modernization of the utility infrastructure, construction of a storm drain, and connection of utilities for the staff’s accommodation container. According to Solid Port President Henryk Grota, the joint investment with ICL Europe Cooperatief UA marks a significant milestone in the company’s development and strengthens the Port of Gdansk’s position as one of the leading logistics hubs in Poland and the Baltic region.
