Solid Port, the operator, has completed a new investment project at the Free Trade Zone (WOC) quay of the Port of Gdansk, constructing two warehouse complexes for storing organic fertilizers. The facilities, built on land leased from the port for a period of 30 years, consist of tent-covered steel structures measuring 40 x 60 meters each with a ridge height of 14.5 meters. The walls and roof are made of durable PVC coating, allowing the warehouses to efficiently store bulk agricultural cargo in big bags with a capacity of 500, 600, and 1,000 kg, stacked up to four high. The total storage capacity at the site reaches 12,160 tons.

Solid Port plays a key role in the handling of bulk cargo – raw materials, inert materials, and fertilizers – ensuring stable supplies for industry, agriculture, and trade. The company has been consistently investing in the development of port infrastructure and superstructures for many years, raising cargo handling standards. The addition of the new warehouses responded to growing market and customer demand and significantly increased the operator’s throughput and storage capacity at the Inner Port of Gdansk, reducing cargo handling times and improving the efficiency of logistics processes.

The project also included the modernization of existing and the construction of new technical infrastructure: electrical, water, and sewer connections were installed, a stormwater drainage system was installed, and a staff shelter was installed next to the warehouses. According to Solid Port President Henryk Grota, between 2019 and 2025, the company handled 242 vessels and 1.3 million tonnes of cargo, and the decision to jointly invest with ICL Europe Cooperatief UA was made in 2024. Dorota Pycz, President of the Port of Gdańsk, noted that such projects strengthen the port’s position as the largest in Poland and one of the key logistics hubs in the Baltic region, contributing to the development of the entire supply chain and the national economy.
