NOVANDI has inaugurated new rail freight connections linking Liège, Belgium, with destinations in Italy and Romania.
The new links expand intermodal options from Liège, which sits at the intersection of rail, road, inland waterways and air freight corridors. The connections are designed to shift freight volumes from road to rail on the Italy and Romania corridors.
According to the company, the services form part of a step-by-step expansion of intermodal operations developed with logistics and rail partners. The routes connect Walloon shippers to established rail freight networks in both countries.
Liège is one of Belgium’s main logistics clusters, with trimodal and multimodal terminals serving regional industry. The addition of direct rail links to Italy and Romania integrates the Walloon hub more closely into European freight flows.
