On April 13, 2026, the first train departed on a new direct route connecting the Polish city of Dąbrowa Górnicza with Žilina, Slovakia, thereby opening an additional logistics corridor in Central Europe.
This new service provides faster and more efficient access from Poland to Slovakia, while also strengthening connections with corridors leading to the ports of Gdańsk, Koper, and Istanbul. The route also ensures prompt access to the region’s key logistics hubs: Žilina, Košice, and Dunajská Streda.
Thanks to this connection, freight flows from Hungary and Romania to Poland are streamlined. Initially, the service operates twice a week, with the potential to increase frequency as demand grows – a development that enhances the resilience and connectivity of rail logistics within the region.
