Bektenov discussed the development of air cargo and the expansion of Kazakhstan’s transport corridors.

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov chaired a meeting dedicated to the implementation of the Head of State’s directives regarding the establishment of a national cargo airline and the development of maritime and railway transportation. The discussion was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Transport, the Samruk-Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, and the Turlov Private holding company, who presented their approaches to organizing operations and ensuring the sustainable development of the cargo carrier.

Particular attention was paid to accelerating the launch of the future airline’s operational activities, including the phased introduction of aircraft into service, securing competitive prices for aviation fuel, and establishing the China–Kazakhstan–Western Europe corridor as a transit cargo hub. The development of supporting infrastructure – specifically airports, cargo terminals, and warehousing logistics – necessary to scale up transportation volumes was also discussed.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed measures to increase cargo throughput at the seaports of Aktau and Kuryk in order to expand transport flows from Central Asia toward the Caucasus and Western Europe. In the railway sector, plans were discussed for infrastructure modernization, increasing network capacity, and refining tariff policies. Following the meeting, Olzhas Bektenov issued a series of instructions regarding the further implementation of the outlined projects.
